It's also worth noting that, following the incident, Bertuzzi was charged with assault (to which he pleaded guilty) and was "indefinitely suspended" by the NHL (he was reinstated in time for the 2005-2006 season - he was suspended throughout the NHL's lockout, but it did keep him from playing in the World Cup of Hockey and some other championships). I'd also note that, before this incident, Bertuzzi was thought of as an ultimate power-forward, a rising superstar. Ever since, his reputation as a semi-goon with scoring talent has kept him from ever achieving those heights.
Anyway, he has apparently tried to add former Canucks coach Marc Crawford as a co-defendant, claiming that Crawford "ordered the hit". Crawford has come out and said that Bertuzzi acted in "direct disobedience" of his directives before attacking Moore.
Is it just me, or does anyone want to see Crawford cross-examined on the stand by Lt. Daniel Kaffee? "Did you order the code red?!" "You're God damned right I did!"
That would be awesome.
